Admissions Procedures
Eighth Grade Students

Eighth graders who are interested in attending Bishop Kearney are required to take the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS) in the fall. Students can obtain applications by visiting www.tachsinfo.com.

Test scores, as well as sixth and seventh grade academic performance, will determine admission. At the time of the test, students may select three schools to receive their scores. We will consider all three choices, but give preference to first and second choices. Admission results will be mailed on the third Thursday in January.

For more information, call Ms. Christine LoMacchio at 718 236-6363 x264 or e-mail - admissions@bishopkearneyhs.org

Admissions Procedures
Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Grade Students

Current freshmen and sophomores wishing to transfer to Bishop Kearney will need to submit a copy of their present report card and a recommendation letter from their guidance counselor to be considered for an upper-class transfer. Tenth graders must also provide their final ninth grade results including summer school if necessary. Once these materials have been received, you will be invited for an interview to discuss admission and course placement.

Please print and complete our on-line application and include it with the above information.

Only special circumstances allow transferring into the twelfth grade. Call 718-236-6363 x 264 for an appointment.

Non-Immigrant Students
Non-immigrant students are defined as students who are in the United States temporarily to pursue their course of study. These are foreign students who maintain a permanent residence abroad and have no intention of abandoning their home. These students are not US citizens or Legal Permanent Residents. They must have the English language skills necessary and the ability to succeed in order to request the I-20 form.

The guardian must provide the student’s complete transcript with translation if necessary.
A statement showing financial support is also required. The registration fee and partial tuition must be paid in order to issue an I-20 document.

The F-1 visa process may take several months to complete; therefore applicants must begin the process NO LATER than June 30 for first semester admission and October 30 for second semester admission.
