Dear Kearney Community,
I am so very pleased to be continuing at Kearney for a fifth year and stepping into the role of Head of School. I, and others, stand on the shoulders of the Sisters of St. Joseph who were early CEOs of hospitals, schools and other agencies. Educated from kindergarten through college by the Sisters, I learned that a career was a commitment to excellence through hard work and Catholic values.
Kearney continues that tradition by ensuring our students experience the world of work. They are learning and practicing efficacy, responsibility, charity and social justice as they engage in projects leading to career path. This will be an exciting year at Kearney. We have expanded our STEAM offerings to include Digital Art and a cross-discipline, global project with a focus this year on South Africa. Virtual Reality is a reality with new software and an updated room where students can interact with 3-D models in the college-level anatomy course.
We were pleased that a team of students and two teachers, were funded by a grant from National Grid, who joined Regis and Fordham Prep to participate in Expeditionaries, a social entrepreneurship experience.
Our students are and will be young women who change the world for the better through deep learning and the practice of the CSJ values of unity, reconciliation and inclusive love.
Dr. Margaret Minson
