After graduating from Bishop Kearney, Amanda attended MIT in Cambridge, MA where she obtained her B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2012. While at MIT, she participated in cheerleading (eventually captaining the team), undergraduate research and various minority programs.
Amanda taught Engineering Design through the same high school program she had the privilege of attending while at Kearney, MITES (Minority Introduction To Engineering and Science).
Upon graduation, Amanda moved to Houston, TX to work in the oil and gas industry for Chevron. Her first job rotation was as a Subsea Pipeline Engineer, which gave her the opportunity to manage large scale projects and occasionally work offshore during project installation. She has since become a Riser Engineer, which entails design and analysis of the riser systems for all of Chevron’s major capital projects. Through this position, Amanda has recently traveled to a university in China to manage a model test of a new riser system.
Amanda continues to live in Houston, TX with her adopted dog, Lupo!
