After graduating from Bishop Kearney in 2000, Laura attended the College of William and Mary and graduated in 2004 with a major in biology and minor in religion with a pre-med concentration. During her time there she was on the steering committee for the largest campus bone marrow drive in the country and also did an honors thesis after four years of research with *Caenorhabditis elegans *worms.
She attended the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago through the United States Air Force Health Scholarship Program and graduated in 2008. After leaving Chicago, she spent 3 years in San Antonio completing her residency in Internal Medicine at the San Antonio Military Medical Center.
Since 2011, she has been stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia where she serves as an Internal Medicine staff physician and medical director of an inpatient ward in the hospital.
