Ann Marie Carlin attended Wagner College, Staten Island, NY upon graduation in 1983 she was commissioned as an Ensign, Nurse Corps and attended initial training via Officer Indoctrination School, Newport, RI.
Receiving initial orders to Naval Hospital, Bethesda, she was assigned as a staff nurse to various areas oncology, surgical and medical units. She worked in several Military Hospitals along with the Recruit Command assigned to Navy Recruit District, New York, where she was the Nurse Corps Officer Recruiter. Following release from active duty in 1993 she transferred to the Independent Ready Reserve (IRR).
In 1993 she affiliated with the Navy Reserves (NR) and was assigned to Fleet Hospital Fort Dix and then OHSU Portsmouth. She transferred to Operational Health Support Unit, Bethesda, MD, where she served as Senior Nurse Executive (SNE). She was mobilized to Landstuhl, Germany in support of Operation Enduring Freedom for one year as the Senior Nurse of NEMU 10. She served as Executive Officer for EMF Bethesda , then Commanding Officer EMF Great Lakes and Deputy Chief of Staff NR-NMETC. Currently she is assigned to various Navy Committees completing special projects
In her civilian career Captain Carlin is a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse at New York Harbor Health Care System: Brooklyn Campus. She holds a Master in Science from Long Island University and is board certified as a Community Health and Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse. Her daughter Katrina and husband Ray reside in Staten Island as well.
