This grant from the National Grid Foundation will allow our teachers to continue professional development in the STEM Wing. The professional development includes: use of the Fab Lab machines, facilitation of learning in the Fab Lab, design project learning, integration of Fab Lab into existing curriculum models and/or training in the use of newly developed curriculum, and mastery and performance-based assessment models.
The grant will also provide funding for our Biomedical Program through Project Lead the Way, the nation’s leading provider of rigorous STEM education for high school students. In the Biomedical Program, students explore realistic situations like investigating the death of a fictional person and analyzing preventions, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. The program's collaborative, hands-on explorations inspire students to discover the diversity of biomedical science careers and empower them to develop the knowledge and skills to make their life-changing ideas a reality.
