Recently, three seniors, Martina Astfanous, Carla Castrogiovanni and Christina LoPardo secured internships with Dr. Kodsi from Calko Medical Center. The students will be working with Dr. Kodsi on a research project testing a specific idea he has for a new drug that will treat an underlying illness. The students will test, analyze and log specimens to see if there is a significant statistical change that could show potential for the idea to be turned into a drug for further testing.
Carla Castrogiovanni said, “I am extremely honored and blessed to have been chosen for this amazing experience. This internship will give me insight into what I hope will be my future career in pharmacy, as well as discipline me and allow me to be exposed to real life situations. I am looking forward to this opportunity!!”
An internship is a wonderful opportunity to gain valuable work experience, strengthen a college application and in this case have the potential to make a difference in the lives of others. Look to our future newsletters for updates on the progress of this research project.
