On Tuesday, the freshmen celebrated together as a class at their in school retreat. Ms. Lauren Gentry, a youth minister from Blessed Virgin Mary Help of Christians parish in Queens, was the presenter. The theme of the retreat was “Loved as I Am”. She worked with the students on ways to cope with issues they are facing as young Catholic women. A highlight of the day was a prayer service where the students reached out to their classmates, giving them messages of encouragement. Ms. Gentry’s message that each one of them is important and loved by God was truly inspiring.
