This past weekend, Bishop Kearney High School welcomed back over 300 graduates from classes ending in 2 and 7 as well as honoring the class of ‘67 on their 50th Anniversary and the class of ‘92 on their 25th Anniversary. On Friday evening, April 28th Kearney alumnae gathered at the Wicked Monk in Bay Ridge to begin the weekend celebration. On Saturday afternoon, alumnae were welcomed home to Bishop Kearney beginning with a Mass at St. Athanasius Church followed by a luncheon at Bishop Kearney.
Everyone was quite pleased to see the renovations to the gym, library, classrooms, and music room as well as the construction of the fitness center and the most recent addition of the Fab Lab. Renewing old friendships, catching up and reminiscing was what the day was all about. The Kearney “girls” had fun walking the halls and taking pictures by their old lockers and other favorite places. After all, “Once a Kearney girl, always a Kearney girl”.
The funds raised this weekend will go directly towards building a FabLab which is a STEM workshop of manual and cutting-edge tools that link art, design, and technology to expand the notions and applicability of science, math and engineering.
Thanks so much to everyone who attended the reunion!
