MICHAEL GORDON FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO BISHOP KEARNEY STUDENTS

President, S. Elizabeth A. Hill recently presented the Michael Gordon Foundation’s scholarships to sixteen students at Bishop Kearney High School. The students received these awards in recognition of their scholastic achievement and academic promise.

Michael Gordon was born in Budapest, Hungary, and studied the art of handbag making in France. He moved to the United States and eventually became world-famous for his designer handbags. In 1991, he established the Michael Gordon Foundation, Inc., whose mission is to aid children under the age of 18 in areas of education, health and welfare.  Although Mr. Gordon passed away in 1998, his legacy continues through the work of the foundation, and in the lives of the young people he has supported.
