BISHOP KEARNEY ANNOUNCES FIRST RECIPIENT OF THE BRIAN MOORE SCHOLARSHIP!

Bishop Kearney is pleased to announce freshman Emily Perry as the first recipient of the Brian Moore Scholarship. Emily is the daughter of a retired NYPD officer and counts numerous other family members among active NYPD members.

Bishop Kearney established the scholarship in 2016 in honor of NYPD Detective 1st Grade Brian Moore. Detective Moore was killed in 2015 while working undercover in Queens. Irene Christensen Moore, Brian's mother, is a member of the Bishop Kearney Class of 1976.

Emily's parents are truly honored that she received this award, named in honor of P.O. Brian Moore, who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the community he served.

This scholarship will be awarded each year to an incoming freshman.
