The Bishop Kearney Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Winifred Radigan, M.A. has been elected the new Chair of the Board. Ms. Radigan, a graduate of the first class at Bishop Kearney, has over 40 years of experience in education including time at Bishop Kearney and our sister school St. Joseph High School, Bridge Street.
She has a B.A. from St. Joseph's College, a M.A. in English from Hunter, and has also completed post-graduate work at St. John's University and Columbia Teachers College.
After 11 years in Catholic Education, Ms. Radigan joined the Department of Education first as a high school English teacher at Edward R. Murrow and then as an Assistant Principal at Erasmus Hall HS and Brooklyn College Academy. In 1991, she was tapped to become the Director of Instruction and Professional Development for Brooklyn High Schools. Ms. Radigan has also worked in several central offices and on the development of citywide professional development standards, and, in 2003, was named one of the Local Instructional Superintendents where she supported and supervised 12 high school principals and their schools.
She retired in 2008 and since that time continues to work as an Educational Consultant. In 2015, she returned to Kearney as a member of the Board of Trustees. She has been delighted to contribute to the growth and flourishing of her alma mater and to participate in the CSJ mission of inclusive love.
