WBKS Visits Good Day New York

On Monday, March 27th, members of Kearney’s TV Station WBKS visited Fox 5 NY to see behind the scenes of Good Day New York. Students new to the club were excited to see the studio and control room and amazed at how similar the studio was to the one at Bishop Kearney. Original members have visited Fox 5 NY numerous times, but continue to gain unique insight from every trip.

After the show, Donna Pisciotta, Director of Production, gave the students a lesson on lighting, robotic cameras and the use of the teleprompter while Lew Leone, General Manager explained how guests are chosen for the show. Mike Woods, weatherman, gave tips on using the green screen and how graphics are chosen based on the weather that day. They also met with Greg Kelly and had a surprise visit from Rosanna Scotto.

Real-world exposure and experience continue to be a foundational and priceless experience for WBKS students.
