KEARNEY ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTOR OF ALUMNAE RELATIONS

For many years, Sister Virginia Lake has been a dedicated member of the Kearney community as a math teacher and administrator. We are extremely grateful to Sister for all her work in the area of Development and Alumnae Relations. She has been a wonderful mentor to countless generations of Kearney women. While Sister will continue to work in the Development Office, Kearney is pleased to announce that Catherine McCarthy Schmidt '74 has accepted the position of Director of Alumnae Relations.

Sister Elizabeth Hill, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said "Bishop Kearney will always be indebted to Sister Virginia for her many years of dedicated service. I am delighted that she will continue to be involved in the outreach to alumnae. We welcome Catherine Schmidt into her new role with great enthusiasm and confidence that she will build a dynamic and effective alumni program that will help to strengthen and enhance Kearney for years to come."

"Catherine and I both came to Kearney in 1970, while she was a student and I was a math teacher. I look forward to working with her for many more years," said Sister Virginia.

Catherine will serve as the chief ambassador to the over 15,000 talented and successful Kearney alumnae. She will diligently work towards strengthening the bonds between these women and their alma mater through special events and proactive communications.
