KEARNEY ESTABLISHES SCHOLARSHIP IN HONOR OF NYPD DETECTIVE 1ST GRADE, BRIAN MOORE

Bishop Kearney has established a scholarship in honor of NYPD Detective 1st Grade Brian Moore. Detective Moore was killed last year while working undercover in Queens. He was 25 years old.

Irene Moore, Brian's mother, is a member of the Bishop Kearney Class of '76. Her classmates approached the administration and have been working tirelessly to raise funds. Class agent, Kathy Lacitignola (McBride) '76 stated, "It is a true privilege to honor the heroic memory of the son of our classmate, Irene. Our hope is to see this scholarship live on in perpetuity."

The Brian Moore Scholarship has been awarded to a member of the Bishop Kearney Class of 2020.
